Robert Bonisolo

Bonisolo è nato a Niagara Falls nel 1966; ha studiato al Berklee di Boston e a New York e là ha fatto tour con la Tommy Dorsey Big Band e con la Band di Carla Bley. Vive in Italia da una decina d'anni ed è spesso chiamato come sideman .Lavora stabilmente da tempo nel quintetto di Dado Moroni ed è nella Lydian dal '92. E' un virtuoso,stilisticamente un coltraniano che nei suoi primi anni guardava più a Brecker e a Berg, mentre oggi ha recuperato la lezione di Dexter e di altri della tradizione.
Bonisolo was born at Niagara Falls in 1966; he studied at Berklee of Boston and New York. He has worked with Tommy Dorsey Big Band and Carla Bley. Now he has been living in Italy since 10 years and he's playng in the Dado Moroni Quintet.
He is in the Lydian sound orchestra since 1992. A very virtous musician, his style is inspired by John Coltrane, Brecker and Berg, but today he's nearer to Dexter and many other "traditional" saxaphone players.
