Miglior Vocalist Jazz ai BBC Jazz Awards nel 2007 e nel 2004 e nomination nella categoria Miglior Vocalist del Regno Unito ai JazzFM Awards nel 2013… Quando poi la voce \u00e8 duttile e potente come quella di Ian Shaw, possiamo stare certi che tutto pu\u00f2 accadere e non c\u2019\u00e8 mai nulla di veramente scontato: introduzioni estemporanee in solitudine, melodie cantate con estremo pathos e sovrabbondanza di nuances, scat ritmico, tutte caratteristiche vocali che stimolano i musicisti di questo quartetto italiano nella direzione dell\u2019interplay. Non un quarteto qualsiasi ma una All Stars Band comprendente Alessandro Di Liberto al piano, Tommaso Scannapieco al basso ed Enzo Zirilli alla batteria Si passa cos\u00ec in maniera molto naturale da grandi classici come “People”, noto cavallo di battaglia di una Barbara Streisand del film “Funny Girl” del 1964 (arrangiato per l’occasione da Di Liberto) alla famosissima “Smile” di C. Chaplin arrangiata da Enzo Zirilli per poi andare anche nella direzione degli standards del jazz tra i meno battuti e qualche episodio pi\u00f9 funky come “Use Me” di Bill Withers che chiude l\u2019intero disco. Un lavoro decisamente molto integro, da cui la scelta del titolo.

Best Jazz Vocalist at the BBC Jazz Awards in 2007 and 2004 and nomination in the Best UK Vocalist category at the JazzFM Awards in 2013 … When the voice is as flexible and powerful as Ian Shaw’s, we can be sure that anything can happen and there is never anything really taken for granted: impromptu introductions in solitude, melodies sung with extreme pathos and an overabundance of nuances, rhythmic scat, all vocal characteristics that stimulate the musicians of this Italian quartet in the direction of interplay. Not just any quartet but an All Stars Band comprising Alessandro Di Liberto on the piano, Tommaso Scannapieco on bass and Enzo Zirilli on drums. In a very natural way one passes from great classics such as “People”, a well-known workhorse of a Barbara Streisand from the film “Funny Girl” of 1964 (arranged for the occasion by Di Liberto) to the famous “Smile” by C. Chaplin arranged by Enzo Zirilli and then also going in the direction of jazz standards among the least popular and some more funky episodes such as “Use Me” by Bill Withers who closes the entire album. A very “integrity” work, hence the choice of title.
