Come nella vita cos\u00ec nella musica, le anime si incontrano. Un disco dunque che \u00e8 condivisione. Ogni originale composizione suona dunque qui come un modo per ripagare un debito di gratitudine verso i suoi illustri compagni di viaggio: Aldo Vigorito con cui Ferraiuolo vanta ormai una collaborazione storica, e Jeff Ballard, probabilmente oggi uno dei batteristi pi\u00f9 richiesti sulla scena mondiale, anche grazie alla sua militanza nel trio di Brad Meldhau e dunque cocreatore di uno stile che ha determinato una delle pi\u00f9 interessanti recenti evoluzioni stilistiche nell\u2019ambito della musica improvvisata.

Underlying the title is the meeting, in wich giving and receiving are two aspects of the same gesture. The gesture is the spark for a relationship to begin. Souls meet playing music as during the lifetime. So “Il Dono” is sharing. Thus, each original composition sounds like a way to repay a debt of gratitude to its illustrious traveling companions: Aldo Vigorito (on the doublebass) with whom Ferraiuolo boasts a historic collaboration, and Jeff Ballard (on drums) , probably one of the most requested drummers on the world stage. Jeff Ballard, thanks to his militancy in the trio of Brad Meldhau, is co-creator of a style that has determined one of the most interesting recent stylistic evolutions in the jazzscene.
