ThreeSpirits Trio nasce da un’urgenza artistica e da una scommessa.
\nInnanzitutto il desiderio di dar vita ad uno spazio musicalmente aperto, dove ogni artista abbia ampi margini di manovra e dove anche lo spunto musicale pi\u00f9 estemporaneo trovi accoglienza e risposta. L\u2019idea di assemblare un organico cos\u00ec insolito e minimalista \u00e8 nata da questa esigenza.
\nE poi la sfida: \u00e8 possibile, ci si \u00e8 chiesti, dare vita ad un progetto musicale in cui il contrabbasso, solitamente votato a funzioni di supporto al solista di turno, possa costituire l’ossatura armonica e melodica? O forse per l’ingombrante strumento assumere quel ruolo, solitamente affidato nei jazz combos al pianoforte o alla chitarra, \u00e8 solo una voglia di riscatto mista alla pi\u00f9 classica forma di wishful thinking (vorrei, ma non posso…)?
\nCi era chiaro fin dal principio che il progetto avrebbe potuto realizzarsi solo in presenza di alcune condizioni: innanzitutto era necessario che anche il percussionista, oltre al consueto supporto ritmico e coloristico, fosse pronto a farsi carico di armonie e melodie, era richiesta poi una voce duttile, in grado di trasformarsi essa stessa in uno strumento, se la situazione musicale lo richiedeva. Infine la condizione pi\u00f9 importante: perch\u00e9 il gioco fosse veramente libero era indispensabile una profonda intesa, musicale ma non solo, fra i membri del trio. Per completare la formula, perch\u00e9 gli elementi si combinassero e la reazione potesse innescarsi.

ThreeSpirits Trio<\/p>\n
ThreeSpirits Trio originates at the same time both from an artistic urge and a musical challenge. First, we imagined an open space, where each artist would have plenty of room and where even the most offhand musical idea could find prompt receptivity and reaction. This desire led us to experiment with such an unusual instrumental line-up.Then the challenge: in jazz ensembles, etiquette usually relegates the double bass to a second-line supporting role for the soloist of the moment. Is it possible, we asked ourselves, to create a musical project with the bass in a melodic and harmonic leading position instead? Or maybe for the \u201cbig violin\u201d pretending to be like a piano or a guitar is just some kind of wishful thinking? It was clear from the start that three conditions were mandatory for a successful outcome: the percussionist wasn’t just requested to support the rhythm and splash a few colours here and there, he had to support also harmonies and melodies, when requested. Then we needed a versatile voice, who could morph itself into an instrument, if the music asked for it. Finally the most important condition: for our game to be really free and joyful, a deep, reciprocal understanding among the members of the trio was essential, and we meant not just a musical one. To top off the formula, to combine the elements and trigger the chemical reaction. This was the best way, we were sure, to reach our audience.
