Una musica in cui non \u00e8 concesso margine di errore, in cui si \u00e8 sempre esposti ed in cui \u00e8 impossibile mentire al pubblico. Una musica in cui “less is more”.
\nIl contrabbasso ed il sax, due strumenti dalla natura e dal ruolo apparentemente opposti ma che in questo caso trovano un punto di contatto proprio nel loro limite pi\u00f9 evidente: la sostanziale incapacit\u00e0 di suonare accordi, limite che li relega al mondo della melodia. Sfruttando questa caratteristica comune il progetto Step Two trova la propria forza nell’aggrapparsi al magnetismo della melodia e del lirismo, impiegando le linee melodiche in un solido contrappunto che costruisce e descrive le armonie e le strutture dei brani ovviando cos\u00ec all’assenza di strumenti armonici.
\nIl nome Step Two \u00e8 un omaggio ad un autore a cui il duo \u00e8 molto debitore, il sassofonista John Coltrane: Step rimanda a Giant Steps, uno dei brani pi\u00f9 noti e complessi di Coltrane e Two \u00e8 il numero degli strumenti che lo vanno ad eseguire. Del sassofonista americano il duo ha riletto le musiche portandole su un piano cameristico, rileggendo e riscrivendo i brani di Coltrane volendolo omaggiare trasformando la sua musica senza imitarla. Di questo lavoro \u00e8 nato un disco dal titolo Binari con l’etichetta discografica Abeat, un lavoro interamente dedicato al grande sassofonista.
\nTuttavia Step Two comprende un repertorio pi\u00f9 vasto. I due musicisti collaborano da anni e prima del duo hanno suonato nelle formazioni pi\u00f9 disparate, compresi i propri progetti e dischi, suonando i repertori pi\u00f9 vari. Cos\u00ec il duo rilegge queste esperienze ampliando il proprio repertorio con la rilettura di brani di ogni provenienza, dalla grande tradizione del jazz allo choro , dal rock ai brani originali.\"\"This work, by record label Abeat, is entirely dedicated to the great saxophonist John Coltrane. “Step Two” stems from the desire to act by subtraction, removing as much as possible to sound mass in order to extract a music in which every note and every accent have weight and are needed. A music where it is not allowed margin of error, which is always displayed and where it is impossible to lie to the public. A music in which “less is more.”
\nThe bass and sax, two instruments with nature and role seemingly opposed but which in this case are a point of contact in their own most obvious limit: the substantial inability to play chords, a limit which relegates them to the world of melody. Taking advantage of this common feature, “Step Two project” finds its strength in the magnetism of melody andof lyricism, using the melodic lines in a solid counterpoint which builds and describes the harmonies and the structures of the songs thus obviating the absence of harmonic instruments.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
