L’approccio naturale ed istintivo di StandHard 3io e Silvia Donati all’improvvisazione, intesa come processo compositivo e non solo performativo, e una forte tendenza a sperimentare sono i fattori chiave del lavoro di reinvenzione del materiale scelto. Le decisioni in merito agli arrangiamenti sono state ridotte al minimo, al fine di creare un atmosfera aperta e libera, caratterizzata da una profonda ricerca di interplay tra i 4 musicisti, ove la tensione tra accordo\/disaccordo di gesti musicali simultanei risulta essere il centro di tutto il progetto.<\/p>\n

Standhard 3io tende a prendere molti rischi nel suonare; le strutture (ritmo, armonia, melodia, forma, dinamiche, etc..) vengono spesso deformate e de-costruite evidenaziando un certo piglio ‘punk’ (simile all’eccitazione di un bimbo che smonta un giocattolo).Il linguaggio jazzistico \u00e8 dunque soltanto un componente della miscela, un mezzo espressivo e non un assioma estetico.L’atmosfera dei brani ricopre un ampio spettro espressivo; da orizzonti minimali a tessiture affollate, da acide schegge ironiche a meditazioni su temi ‘impegnati’.Silvia Donati, con la sua grande sensibilit\u00e0 e originale vocalit\u00e0, si unisce al gioco piegando melodie e strutture con grande creativit\u00e0 e regalando un insostituibile\u00a0 spessore emotivo.<\/p>\n

“Singin’ in the brain” includes original compositions by the band, jazz standards and songs from different repertoires. StandHard 3io’s and Silvia Donati’s natural and instinctive approach to improvisation, as a compositional and performing process, and an experimental attitude have been the key-factors in the work of re-inventing the choosen material. Decisions about arrangements have been reduced to the minimum level, in order to allow a truly free and open atmosphere to emerge.<\/p>\n

The whole game is based on a deep research on the interplay between the 4 musicians, so the constant tension between agreement and dis-agreement of simultaneous musical gestures become the very core of the entire project. Standhard 3io use to take a lot of risk while playing; the structures (rhythm, harmony, melody, form, dynamics, etc.. ) are often deformed and\u00a0 de-constructed revealing a kind of ‘punk’ attitude, like the childish joy to unscrew the toy, jazz language being only a part of the mixture; just a medium and not an aesthetic axiom. The tunes’ atmosphere covers a wide expressive range, goin’ from minimal landscapes to overcrowded textures, from ironical and acid sketches to meditations on deep themes.<\/p>\n
