Jazz e Poesia si fondono, in questo CD, con un risultato che non ha precedenti in Italia. Un lavoro che giunge dopo 4 anni di dedizione e sviluppi sulla scia della creatività e dell’innovazione di lavori d’oltreoceano come “The Clown” di Charles Mingus o il più recente “The Lion for Real” del poeta Allen Ginsberg ed i musicisti Bill Frisell, Philip Glass e altri, prodotto da Hal Willner.
Si realizza in questo modo una fusione tra parola e musica senza scadere nella canzone, né nella teatralizzazione della parola, ma restando sempre in bilico tra la “purezza” del jazz e la “purezza” della poesia.
Il progetto “JP band” segna una “rarità” nel jazz italiano, rivoluzionando il genere della jazz-poetry, con un disco godibilissimo per l’interplay dell’affiatato trio Orefice–Leveratto–Fioravanti modernissimo e capace di catturare tutte le sfumature dei testi poetici di Domenico Cipriano (poeta molto apprezzato dal pubblico e dalla critica), con la voce affascinante e ritmica del versatile Enzo Marangelo, che si fonde in modo impeccabile col trio.
