Giovanni Scasciamacchia, maestro indiscusso delle arti percussive e richiestissimo drummer italiano, propone per Abeat Records un nuovo lavoro, un concept album, dove ciascun brano si ispira al mondo del design, raccogliendo una suggestione dall’amico produttore Paolo Insalata. La connessione tra Jazz e Design, richiamata nel titolo Patto Armonico, ha origini remote e si manifestò nell’America degli anni Venti e Trenta, quando l’estetica dell’Art Déco e la sua associazione con il lusso e il glamour si fondevano perfettamente con il dilagare dell’onda del Jazz, tanto da far coincidere alla definizione Art Déco, quella di Jazz Style. Per sostenere questo immaginifico progetto il cast si avvale di alcuni pesi massimi della scena mondiale contemporanea: il sassofonista Perico Sambeat, il nostro portacolori del pianoforte jazz Dado Moroni ed il richiestissimo Tommaso Scannapieco al contrabbasso. Un disco italiano che celebra l’arte dello swing targato ventunesimo secolo, moderno stilisticamente ma dalle solide radici nella cultura tradizionale afroamericana, ed una originale impostazione creativa. Giovanni Scasciamacchia, undisputed master of the percussive arts and highly sought-after Italian drummer, proposes a new work for Abeat Records, a concept album, where each song is inspired by the world of design, collecting a suggestion from his producer friend Paolo Insalata. The connection between Jazz and Design, referred to in the title “Patto Armonico”, has remote origins and manifested itself in the America of the twenties and thirties, when the aesthetics of Art Deco and its association with luxury and glamor merged perfectly with the spread of the wave of Jazz, so much so that the definition of Art Déco coincides with that of Jazz Style. To support this imaginative project the cast makes use of some heavyweights of the contemporary world scene: the saxophonist Perico Sambeat, our jazz piano standard bearer Dado Moroni and the highly sought after Tommaso Scannapieco on double bass. An Italian album that celebrates the art of twenty-first century swing, modern stylistically but with solid roots in traditional African-American culture, and an original creative approach.
