Il duo The Jolly Shoes Sisters nasce nel 2019 dall’incontro di Laura Fedele e Veronica Sbergia, due anime jazz & blues dalla strepitosa vocalità, veterane dei palchi nazionali e internazionali. The Jolly Shoes Sisters propongono una selezione di hot jazz e swing, restituendo con spirito ludico le suggestioni di un periodo che va dai Roaring Twenties, “I ruggenti anni venti”, agli anni quaranta. Polistrumentiste e autentiche virtuose della voce, The Jolly Shoes Sisters coniugano tradizione e modernità, regalando all’ascoltatore un felice, talora serrato, interplay vocale e architetture pianistiche sofisticate e brillanti, puntellate dalla ritmicità primitiva e coinvolgente del washboard. Shake your Shimmy è il frutto di questo sodalizio, impreziosito inoltre, dalla partecipazione di eccellenti musicisti ospiti in alcune takes: Enrico Rava che si dispiega in tutta la sua poesia al flicorno; Mauro Porro al clarinetto; Marco Brioschi alla tromba, il mitico Lucio “Violino” Fabbri al violino. Dodici tracce, di cui sette brani della tradizione e quattro composizioni originali.Insomma un progetto godibile e allo stesso tempo di grandissima qualità. 

The duo The Jolly Shoes Sisters was born in 2019 from the meeting of Laura Fedele and Veronica Sbergia, two jazz & blues souls with an amazing vocality, veterans of national and international stages. The Jolly Shoes Sisters offer a selection of hot jazz and swing, restoring the suggestions of a period ranging from the Roaring Twenties to the forties with a playful spirit. Multi-instrumentalist and authentic vocal virtuosos, The Jolly Shoes Sisters combine tradition and modernity, giving the listener a happy, sometimes tight, vocal interplay and sophisticated and brilliant piano architectures, underpinned by the primitive and engaging rhythm of the washboard. Shake your Shimmy is the fruit of this partnership, further enhanced by the participation of excellent guest musicians in some takes: Enrico Rava who unfolds in all his poetry on the flugelhorn; Mauro Porro on clarinet; Marco Brioschi on trumpet, the legendary Lucio “Violino” Fabbri on violin. Twelve tracks, including seven traditional pieces and four original compositions. In short, an enjoyable project and at the same time of the highest quality.
