Stefano Bagnoli, “the brushman”(il re delle spazzole) come viene simpaticamente chiamato dai colleghi, certamente è uno dei protagonisti principali delle arti percussive sulla scena jazz nazionale e non, richiesto ed attivo collaboratore in ensemble come il Devil quartet di Paolo Fresu, il “Barber Shop” di Franco Cerri con Moroni e Fioravanti, Antonio Faraò Trio, Massimo Moriconi Trio, Renato Sellani, solo per citarne alcuni…
Da alcuni anni porta avanti il progetto “We kids”, avvalendosi di giovani e giovanissimi musicisti, contribuendo così alla loro scoperta. L’idea non è solo la valorizzazione delle nuove generazioni ma anche quella di miscelare sapientemente esperienza e tradizione alle costanti nuove visioni della musica contemporanea.
I due precedenti dischi vedevano protagonisti Cucchiara e Patti che invece in questo terzo lavoro lasciano il posto a Zambon e Vitale, due veri enfant prodige, che certamente non finiranno di stupire e avranno fulgida carriera. Un disco armonico in ogni componente: freschezza stilistica, esperienza, swing per un repertorio in parte originale in parte tratto dal songbook americano.
Stefano Bagnoli, “the brushman” as he is nicely called by his colleagues, is certainly one of the main protagonists of the percussive arts on the national and non-national jazz scene, requested and active collaborator in ensembles such as the Devil quartet by Paolo Fresu, the “Barber Shop” by Franco Cerri with Moroni and Fioravanti, Antonio Faraò Trio, Massimo Moriconi Trio, Renato Sellani, just to name a few…
For some years he has been carrying out the “We Kids” project, making use of young and very young musicians, thus contributing to their discovery. The idea is not only the enhancement of the new generations but also that of wisely mixing experience and tradition with the constant new visions of contemporary music.
The two previous discs saw protagonists Cucchiara and Patti who instead in this third job give way to Zambon and Vitale, two real enfant prodige, that certainly will not end to amaze and will have a bright career. A harmonious disc in every component: stylistic freshness, experience, swing for a repertoire partly original partly taken from the American songbook.
