Pure Joy, eccelsa contrabbassista e giovane leader, artista a tutto tondo, non fa musica per mestiere, ma per urgenza espressiva e per istinto. Con una idea-progetto visionaria che nasce in risposta a ciò che sta accadendo sul fronte dell’emergenza ambientale ha deciso di pubblicare una serie di 5 dischi dedicati agli elementi della natura. Il precedente disco “Songs of The Wood” (ABJZ560) traeva ispirazione dall’elelemento “legno”. Con il secondo capitolo intitolato “Firedance” entriamo nella dimensione del “fuoco”. Tradizione e modernità si fondono con naturalezza in un disco dove si susseguono atmosfere a volte intense a volte più delicate e rarefatte, con una ritmica efficace e due fuoriclasse – Emanuele Cisi e Giovanni Amato – che ne rendono l’ascolto assolutamente consigliato.
Pure Joy, an excellent artist, excellent double bass player and young leader, does not make music by trade, but for expressive urgency and instinct. With a visionary idea-project born in response to what is happening on the environmental emergency front, he decided to publish a series of 5 discs dedicated to the elements of nature. The previous album, “Songs of The Wood” (ABJZ560), drew inspiration from the “wood” element. With the second chapter entitled “Firedance”, Joy introduces the listener to the dimension of “fire”. Tradition and modernity blend naturally in a disc where you can find atmospheres sometimes intense, sometimes more delicate and rarefied, with an effective rhythm and two supermusicians – Emanuele Cisi and Giovanni Amato – who listening absolutely recommended.
