Paolo Alderighi è pianista di grande talento che, come spesso accade ai muscisti italiani, ha già trovato una ribalta ed un successo notevole di pubblico e critica al di fuori dei confini nazionali. Si esibisce nei teatri e nelle rassegne più importanti soprattutto laddove è richiesto un pianismo di impronta tradizionale.
Il suo è uno stile infatti che denota un grande rispetto per l’idioma del jazz classico, il desiderio di esplorarne nuovi confini e il piacere , la gioia di mantenere questa tradizione viva ed intensa come lo era in origine.
Tutti i brani contenuti in questo CD sono standard jazz: alcuni provengono dai repertori di New Orleans e del jazz classico (Shreveport Stomp, Muskrat Ramble, The Sheik of Araby), altri dal teatro musicale di Broadway e dal Great American Songbook (My Romance, Embraceable You, How Long Has This Been Going On, It’s All Right with Me, Love for Sale, Tea for Two, The Nearness of You), due brani sono associati al repertorio da big band (The Kid from Red Bank, Four Brothers) e uno è una composizione di Django Reinhardt (Manoir de Mes Rêves), uno dei più importanti jazzisti europei della storia del jazz.
Paolo Alderighi is a pianist of great talent who, as often happens to italian musicians, has already found a spotlight and a considerable success of critical acclaim outside of national boundaries. he Performs in more important theaters especially where it has required a pianism of conventional impression. All the songs included in this CD are jazz standards: some belong to the New Orleans and classic jazz repertoires (Shreveport Stomp, Muskrat Ramble, The Sheik of Araby), others come from the musical theatre of Broadway and the Great American Songbook (My Romance, Embraceable You, How Long Has This Been Going On, It’s All Right with Me, Love for Sale, Tea for Two, The Nearness of You), two tunes are associated with the big band repertoire (The Kid from Red Bank, Four Brothers) and one is a composition of Django Reinhardt (Manoir de Mes Rêves), one of the most important European musicians in the history of jazz.
