Marcella Carboni è l’arpa jazz e non solo in Italia.
Still chime è il nome del nuovo esaltante progetto di Marcella Carboni, una delle poche arpiste italiane che si cimenta nella dimensione jazz e che ha saputo ritagliarsi un ruolo da protagonista con il suo strumento inusuale. Sempre più spesso viene invitata in contesti internazionali dove il suo modo di interpretare l’arpa, la sua visione della musica sul confine spesso tra musica improvvista ed elementi tra loro disparati ( etnica, world music, classica), la sua caratura artistica. la pongono sotto i riflettori. Alla guida di un quartetto che riunisce molti dei tasselli che la musicista cagliaritana ha toccato nel proprio percorso artistico: Francesca Corrias (voce), Yuri Goloubev (contrabbasso) e Francesco D’Auria (batteria e percussioni).
In particolare troviamo un’altra donna di origine sarda, Francesca Corrias, con la quale ritorna a collaborare dopo aver condiviso gli esordi più di dieci anni fa. Francesca Corrias è divenuta un personaggio straordinario, sempre più spesso ricercata per le doti di grande interprete: cantante dotata di un timbro versatile, di grande musicalità e soprattutto in grado di esprimersi in ambiti diversi con disinvoltura estrema,è inoltre perfettamente in grado di cantare in lingue diverse con perfetta dizione: anche in questo disco ce ne da prova cantando in inglese, in portoghese ed anche in dialetto sardo. Marcella ritrova il contrabbassista russo con cui ha lavorato in trio, e ospita l’armonica di Max De Aloe con cui ha duettato nel recente “Pop Harp”. A questo si aggiunge l’apporto di Francesco D’Auria, polistrumentista, batterista e percussionista di grande artisticità, perfetto in questo contesto per la sua capacità di dare un colore preciso ai brani.
Un disco di confine, che attraversa vari generi, jazz in testa. Repertorio che va da Ellington a Pieranunzi, da Stevie Wonder a Dorothy Ashby, con alcuni brani originali cantati in tante lingue diverse, improvvisazione collettiva e arrangiamenti curati.
“Still Chime” è proprio questo: ciò che “risuona ancora” per bellezza, personalità, storia e inventiva.

Still chime is the name of the new exciting project by Marcella Carboni, one of the few Italian jazz harpists who has been able to carve out a leading role with its unusual tool. Increasingly, she was invited in international contexts where his way of interpreting the harp, his vision of the music on the border between improvised music and disparate elements together (ethnic, world music, classical). Her artistic caliber, put her in the spotlight. Leading a quartet that brings together many of the pieces that the Sardinian musician has touched in his artistic career: Francesca Corrias (voice), Yuri Goloubev (bass) and Francesco D’Auria (drums and percussion).
In particular, we find another woman of Sardinian origin, Francesca Corrias, with whom she returns to work after having shared the beginnings over ten years ago. Francesca Corrias has become an extraordinary character, increasingly sought after for the qualities of great performer: singer with a versatile tone, with great musicality and above all able to express themselves in different genres with extreme ease, it is also perfectly capable of singing in different languages with correct diction: in this record Francesca sings in English, Portuguese and also in the Sardinian dialect.
The leader Marcella carboni finds the russian bass player with whom he worked in the trio formul , and the harmonic player Max De Aloe with whom he duets in the recent Cd “Pop Harp”. Added to this is the contribution of Francesco D’Auria, multi-instrumentalist, drummer and percussionist of great artistry, perfect in this context for its ability to give an accurate color to the songs.
