Luigi Di Nunzio rappresenta l’ennesima sorpresa che scaturisce dalla straordinaria realtà napoletana. Un giovane sassofonista dalle qualità straordinarie che non è sfuggito all’orecchio attento e sopraffino di Antonio Faraò, divenuto suo mentore. Un disco che oltre a celebrare le doti di un giovane che fa già molto parlare di sè, vede la compartecipazione, in un progetto non occasionale ma anzi ben strutturato, di artisti di conclamato livello internazionale: partendo dalla ritmica, costituita dai richiestissimi americani Darryl Hall ( Hank Jones, Tom Harrell, James Williams, Geri Allen… persino il fenomenale bassista Christian McBride lo ha voluto con sé nella propria big band!) e Gene Jackson ( Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Hugh Masekela, Cyrus Chestnut, Greg Osby, Terence Blanchard, Andrew Hill, George Coleman, Steve Turre, Chico and Von Freedman, Don Patterson, Elvis Costello, Art Farmer…) per arrivare ad uno dei vanti nazionali, Antonio Faraò, che firma alcuni brani del lavoro. INEXISTENT è un progetto che fa idealmente da ponte tra la tradizione americana e quella europea.Le composizioni, interamente originali, sono di ottima fattura ed vengono interpretate con classe ed eleganza. Questo lavoro conferma, ancora una volta, come le nuove leve del jazz italiano sappiamo sempre attestarsi ad altissimi livelli, sempre ed ogni volta ottenendo riconoscimenti oltreconfine. Luigi Di Nunzio is yet another surprise, coming from the extraordinary reality of Naples. A young saxophonist with amazing qualities. The well known italian pianist Antonio Faraò, discovered him and has became his mentor.
“INEXISTENT” is a Cd that in addition to celebrating the talents of a young man, sees the partnership, in a project that is not occasional but rather well structured, with internationally acclaimed artists: starting from the rhythmic section , consisting of the bass player Darryl Hall (Hank Jones, Tom Harrell, James Williams, Geri Allen … even the phenomenal bassist Christian McBride wanted him with him in his own big band!) and the drummer Gene Jackson (Dianne Reeves, Christian McBride, Hugh Masekela, Cyrus Chestnut, Greg Osby, Terence Blanchard, Andrew Hill, George Coleman, Steve Turre, Chico and Von Freedman, Don Patterson, Elvis Costello, Art Farmer …) to get to one of the italian glories: Antonio Faraò, who is writer of a couple of songs. INEXISTENT is a project providing an ideal bridge between America and Europe. All compositions are original, excellent and interpreted with class and elegance.
