Oscar Del Barba represents the classic case of a cultured musician, who, drawing from the roots of the folk music of his land, develops a musical intertwining that rediscovers and blends together various elements: the result is a unique synthesis of rare aesthetic depth. “Tre Gosse de Lüna” is a CD on the border between cultured, jazz, folk and experimental music. Inevitable the approach to Gianluigi Trovasi who was the progenitor of this type of operation. Now Oscar Del Barba continues in this vein by bringing new elements and enriching this thematic research by reworking some popular themes of the Lombard tradition, Brescia in particular and intervening, in some cases, in a substantial way. Popular music represents and tells the soul of a people, its memory. In popular music you can recognize the uses and customs, you can “feel” the smells, you can “see” the colors of a people. The choice of musicians who were able to have a natural musical approach suitable for this type of operation was of fundamental importance. These are some of the best exponents of the Italian jazz scene with a preference for various mixes, especially ethnic, with the prestigious contribution of Aya Shimura, one of the most popular cellists in the classical field. A CD of great artistry and cultural depth.
