Due tra i più importanti e significativi artisti Argentini, danno vita ad un progetto che miscela il linguaggio improvvisativo al folklore della loro terra. Il risultato è un mix esplosivo di passione, orgoglio e solarità dove jazz e idiomi argentini si mischiano regalando una esperienza davvero intensa, sentita, che arriva diritta al cuore.
Il repertorio di “Estandars” attinge ad un campionario di grandi canzoni del repertorio folkloristico includendo zamba, chacarera, chamame,milonga, tango, candombe, ecc…
Dalle liner notes: “Siamo entrambi argentini della stessa città: Cordoba. Perciò la riproposizione in chiave jazzistica dei “nostri standards” ha significato per noi ripercorrere insieme alcune tappe della nostra crescita ed evoluzione artistica, partendo proprio dalle comuni origini e tradizioni. Unica eccezione la celebre canzone “Roma nun fa’ la stupida stasera” che rappresenta un omaggio alla città di adozione, reinterpretata alla nostra maniera”.
Un’altra connotazione significativa: la seduta di registrazione è stata effettuata in studio con la gente presente e disposta nella stessa stanza di ripresa. Una sorta di live in studio, buona alla prima mantenendo il carattere ruspante e qualche imprecisione “perfetta”.

Two of the most important and significant Argentine artists create a project blending jazz to their country’s folklore. The result is an explosive blend of passion, pride, and solarity, giving a really intense experience that goes straight to the heart.
The repertoire draws on a collection of great songs including many different musical idioms: zamba, chacarera, chamame, milonga, tango, candombe etc…
From liners note: “We are both Argentinians in the same city: Cordoba. Therefore, the jazz-style reproduction of our “standards” meant for us to retrace together a few stages of our growth and artistic evolution, starting from the common origins and traditions. The only exception is the famous song “Roma nun does the stupid tonight” which represents a homage to the adoption city, reinterpreted in our own way.” Javier Girotto & Natalio Mangalavite
Another significant connotation: the recording session was done in the studio with the present people and placed in the same room. A kind of live in studio, good at the first take while keeping the character unpicked and some “perfect” inaccuracy.
